OUR HISTORY

 

The Hood Church, Inc. is a God vision, as He created this model of ministry. It is a youth and young adult hip hop ministry that uses relational driving beats to deliver the message of the kingdom of God to an unchurched generation. Though targeted to young people, the ministry draws people of all ages, cultures, localities, demographics and nationalities and all are welcome! Our motto is, “This is not your Momma’s Church” due to the nontraditional ministry methods used to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Hood Church, Inc., founded in January 2013 on the campus of Virginia University of Lynchburg by conducting Bible Study weekly for students, celebrated its first service on July 28, 2013. We are about to celebrate 10 years of ministry. The church has rebranded under the new mantle, New Revolution Urban Ministries and is in a building project to support the work of the ministry tasked to it by God. God is building a ministry that will meet the needs of young people and we are looking for sold out believers in Jesus who are led by the Holy Ghost, to partner with us as we endeavor to serve them spiritually, naturally, economically, financially, and emotionally! We are doing exploits for God in the realm of the urban disenfranchised youth and young adults who need a place they can feel comfortable to worship. Please partner with us! We are sent to youth and young adults ages 13 - 35, but they are least able to support the ministry they need the most. However, all ages are welcome! We need your help to create a safe place to serve these young people.  The corporation retains the original name, The Hood Church Inc. 2022 saw the ministry buy property for the new community youth center.
